BREWSKI

19 Aug 2017 By

Brewski is the highest rooftop craft beer bar in Bangkok. We couldn’t plow through their whole selection, but we plan to go back.

Perched high on the rooftop of Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok is Brewski, a craft beer bar that doesn’t brew, but instead serves many quality beers – some of them are Thai craft beers you normally won’t find in an average joint.

Parched visited over the weekend: We drank some beers, enjoyed the views, sampled some more brews, ate some steady comfort food, and ended up loving the place. So here is Brewski in numbers:

Brewski Radisson Blu Bangkok

30. As in stories high. Here you’ll get a 360 view of central Bangkok (Radisson Blu is at Sukhumvit Soi 27.)

100 crafts beers are available here, so we had to start with a sampler.

Brewski Radisson Blu Bangkok

12 beers on tap, which changes regularly – it’s a curated mix of European, American and Thai beers. Copper 33 is Singha’s own craft beer.

20 is the drinking age in Thailand. Man, we don’t make the laws, we just saying.

3 premium craft beers made by a Thai company called Full Moon Brewworks are available here – which we love. The beers, however, aren’t made in Thailand, it’s brewed in Australia. The Bussaba Ex-Weisse is an award-winning hefeweizen with a lovely finish, and not too wheaty. The Chalawan Pale Ale is a blend of pilsner and Munich malts, and has a slight fruity flavour. The Chatri IPA is bitter with big hoppy aromas but also has a hint of spice to pair with Thai foods. Kudos to brewmaster Sukij Thipatima.

2 countries involved in the making of this stout; it’s brewed in Korea and shipped to Thailand to be served on tap. It’s a black and tan with coffee, chocolate and oat notes. Easy to drink.

Brewski Radisson Blu Bangkok

10 billion. Fun fact: There’s a piece of legislation that says if you don’t brew 10 billion litres of beer, then you don’t get to brew in Thailand. That’s why the smaller crafts have to brew overseas before shipping their bottles back home. It is what it is. It cost a little more, but we’re still drowning them at Brewski.

Attico Radisson Blu Bangkok

Wait, what’s this? If you’ve had your fill of panoramic views and crafty brews at Brewski, then head downstairs to Attico, the award-winning Italian restaurant with a fine selection of wines.

Leave the canoli, take everything else.

We stayed at Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok, and flew Thai Airways for our review trip. Thanks to the team!
