We speak with Gabriella Zavatti, founder of ZAVVA Concepts, and she gives us the hots for ZAVVA Shots.

She’s young, beautiful, successful, and most importantly, killing it out here. Meet Gabriella Zavatti, founder and CEO of ZAVVA Concepts. In the vibrant, cut-throat business scene of alcoholic beverages – where most of us consumes, she contributes.

 

1. The 1st alcoholic beverage you’ve ever consumed…

GZ: I was notorious for sneaking sips of champagne when the adults weren’t looking… I was five.  



2. These days…

GZ: when I’m not doing rounds of ZAVVA (shameless plug), I do enjoy a good glass of red wine. 


3. An ideal food n drink pairing is…

GZ: Cheese, with quince paste, and a glass of Montepulciano.



4. Zavva Shots came about because…

GZ: I wanted to change the way people were drinking. I noticed that there was a big divide between on and off trade; the mixology trend was rising in bars/clubs, but this was not accessible to everyone. All the while the beverage selection in retail that I had grown up with had remained quite unchanged. I set out to bridge that gap.

5. What happens when you drink ZAVVA shots?

GZ: When you drink ZAVVA, it’s as close to a bar-mixed shot as you’re going to get with that much convenience. I was determined to create a great tasting, high quality, and fairly priced drink that was accessible to everyone. We care about what’s in our shots and also the lifestyle that is based around drinking them. That’s what ZAVVA is all about – we love bringing together people and creating those great candid moments!



6. The vision…

GZ: ZAVVA is not just about alcohol, it’s about the lifestyle which surrounds it. The ZAVVA-fan is inquisitive; they’re adventurers. They like to explore, be challenged, and discover. We want to work with that and continue to develop ZAVVA across multiple creative realms; art, music, fashion, design, for example, are all areas that we synergise really well with – all areas typical to the lifestyle preferences sought out by the ZAVVA drinker.  That’s also represented in our slogan; ‘one shot, endless possibilities’. We have a lot of brand partnerships in the pipeline, which will be rolling out, and are always looking for cool quirky collaborations. 



7. Best place in Asia to be Parched?

GZ: Is anywhere with good company… and hopefully, close to an esky or fridge!  



8. On the CSR behind all the plastic cups Zavva Shots churn out… 

GZ: We’re working on implementing a system that can be spread across all our markets to ensure environmentally conscious recycling.



9. Best and worst thing about being the founder of Zavva?

GZ: The best thing is that I have full creativity on a day to day basis, meaning that every moment I’m continually thinking about new ways to develop, to create, to innovate, to stimulate, and to solve. This also happens to be the worst thing, as I never really switch off. I’m always brainstorming or reveling in new things that inspire me. It’s a catch 22, but I love it – I wouldn’t have it any other way! 



10. Out with the truth, the best selling item in your arsenal is…

GZ: “Black Pearl” is an old favourite, no denying that. The coffee and vanilla combo wins hearts (and palates) every time! But, with “Love Me Lychee” as the new kid on the block, I think it stands as quite a threat.



11. Next Frontier…

GZ: I have my eye on a few places! But in saying that, we have a lot of fun things planned for Singapore – it’s a new market for us, and just as ZAVVA is new, we’re looking forward to getting to know this city.

 

ZAVVA Shots come in 30ml alcoholic ready-to-drink (RTD) split pot shots

The global ZAVVA collection includes four signature flavor combinations; ‘Black Pearl’, a soothing and aromatic blend of coffee and vanilla liqueur; ‘China White’, a mix of home-style butterscotch liqueur and smooth silky cream; ‘Love Me Lychee’, a delicate balance of Lychee vodka and liqueur; and ‘Citrus Twist’, an invigorating fusion of lemon and tangy lime.

ZAVVA is launched in Hong Kong, and is now in Taiwan and Singapore.
