STAR WARS CANTINA

25 Aug 2016 By

It’s what all grown-up Star Wars fans have dreamed about: sitting down to a bubbling brew in the classic Mos Eisley Cantina, surrounded by intergalactic chaos and interspecies debauchery. Order the Chewy Chaser or the Jabba Julep.

Written by Sarah Chaney

Soon that dream will become reality, and you won’t even have to travel to a galaxy far, far away. A Southern California pop-up bar christened the Scum & Villainy Cantina is rumored to be an extremely faithful re-creation of the iconic Episode IV nightspot. (No word yet on whether your fellow denizens will include cyborg bounty hunters or alien trumpeteers.)

Although most details have been kept under wraps, we’ve intercepted a few important transmissions. According to the pop-up’s website, the location coordinates are within the 90028 zip sector, “less than 12 parsecs away, in the wretched hive of Hollywood.”

Reservations for the exclusive oasis will be available on the website soon. Prices are not yet listed, but your ticket will include two drinks, a souvenir glass, a Scum & Villainy challenge coin and, most importantly, two hours in your personal geeky, boozy paradise!

Unlike Luke and Obi-Wan, you won’t need to use the Jedi Mind Trick to gain entry. Reservations will be available every day from 6 to 8 p.m. and 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., as well as 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Walk-in tables are expected to be available from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., and a challenge coin from a previous visit gets you free admission during those hours.

Oh, and did we mention costumes are encouraged? See you there, we will, hmm!
