V-DAY. 5 THINGS TO DO

11 Feb 2016 By

Whether you’re blissfully single or bashfully coupled-up, we’ve got some suggestions on what to do this weekend.

Ah Valentine’s, the restaurants’ favourite day of the year. Next to New Year’s eve, obvs. For punters, the pressure is on to impress that date, budget be damned (do think twice about that air ballon ride though).  For singles, it’s the time to gather your squad and go do some liver damage. Whichever way you lean, we’ve got some ideas for this V-Day weekend.

FEB 13: POST BAR LATINO NIGHT

latino salsa

This fortnightly salsa party hits all the right notes. The band is a live wire act, and the dancing crowd is really up for it. It’s a fun sexy night, completed with delicate red roses for the damsels on the dancefloor. Indulge in alcoholic treats, compliments of El Optimista Premium Tequila – and dance (or watch the experts) groove to all-time favourite salsa tunes. (Oh, tequila shots totally recommended).

Walk-in, or make table reservations at www.fullertonhotel.com/dining/

Saturday from 6pm. Post Bar, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore.

FEB 13: KAMPONG PARTY

bungalowStep back in time at the last Bungalow and flats on River Valley rd. Enjoy fresh craft beer served from a trishaw, BBQ and the hottest club DJ’s. The night will be capped off with a large outdoor cinema (Movie TBA).

Friends/family/kids welcome. Bring a smiley face, maybe some meat, maybe a salad and your mossie repellant.

Saturday from 3pm. 11-13 St Thomas Walk.

FEB 13 + 14: CE LA VI’s VALENTINE’S DAY MENU

Ce la vi

If you wanna splurge, this is the place to go (higher than that air balloon ride you were planning. Yes you were). Executive Chef Frederic Faucheux has created a stunning modern Asian Valentine’s Day Menu with highlights including aphrodisiacal treats of Irish Oysters with Passion Fruit Sorbet, Whitefish Sushi with ginger soy and ikura, and the decadent Sea Scallop and Foie Gras with crumbled ginger biscuits (above), apple teriyaki and seared grapes.

There will be beats, and there will be wefies. It’s $168++ per person, wine pairing option is an additional $128++/pax. Make reservations at: reservation-sg@celavi.com
Hotline: +65 6688 7688

Lunch and dinner. Ce La Vi, level 57, Marina Bay Sands.

FEB 14: ARTISANAL CHOCOLATE AND WINE PAIRING WORKSHOP

chocolates

Erm, two words: Wine, Chocolates. The key to wine and chocolate pairing is simple: match the sweetness of the wine to the sweetness of the chocolate. This V-Day Merchants Wine Shop will be experimenting with new flavours to match their five wines, you’ll be guided through tasting maps and fun interactive games. ($48+ per pax)

Sunday 3-5pm. Merchants of Singapore, 443 Joo Chiat Road. Reservations here.

FEB 14: NO STRINGS ATTACHED AT TBC

TBC BEACH

Spend your Sunday flying solo on the sand with your best mates and shimmy to the sexy poolside beats by DJ Tyler Made. Get flirty with games of giant twister, lines of suck & blow and enjoy a bottle of Freixenet Cordón Negro Cava at $50++.

Beats begin 2pm – till you find a partner. Reservations: book@tanjongbeachclub.com

Sunday. Tanjong Beach Club. 120 Sentosa Beach Walk, Sentosa.
