Whisky Live 2018 has a new location (Andaz) and a new format (more of that later). It also has 14 masterclasses which we want to highlight first:

Japanese – 4 Decades

This whisky masterclass offers a tasting of rare Japanese whiskies of acclaimed brands:

1. Karuizawa 1978 Cask 8383 Vintage Label
2. Yoichi 23 Y 1991 Heavily Peated
3. Chichibu 3Y The First
4. Mars 30 Y 1986 American White Oak

This innovative and enjoyable experience will be conducted by an expert from La Maison Du Whisky Paris.

Session: S$300 per person and will be conducted on Saturday, 3 November 2018 at 5.45pm, and on Sunday, 4 November 2018 at 2.00pm.

Rare Malt Masterclass

Hosted by an expert from La Maison Du Whisky, this whisky masterclass includes a tasting of rare and old single malt whiskies:

1. Convalmore 24Y 1978 Rare Malts

2. Millburn 35Y 1969 Rare Malt ARE

3. St. Magdalene 19Y 1979 Rare Malts

4. Port Ellen 22Y 1978 Rare Malts

Session: S$250 per person and will be conducted on Sunday, 4 November 2018 at 5.00pm.

Kavalan Taiwanese Single Malt Masterclass

Explore the range of award winning Kavalan single malts from Taiwan with the Kavalan Ambassador.

Although a relatively young whisky producer, Kavalan has been producing remarkable award-winning whiskies in recent years. The Solist Vinho Barrique was named Single Malt of the Year at the 2015 World Whisky Awards (WWA), and the Solist Amontillado was named Best Single Cask Single Malt at the 2016 WWA.

We are also excited to announce a new bottle release – the Kavalan Distiller’s Select!

Session: S$35 per person and will be conducted on Saturday, 3 November 2018 at 6.30pm.

As mentioned, ticketing is different this year. No longer do you buy one tix and get unlimited samplings. Yup, no more free flow… Wait, come back!

Ticket starts at $119 for 10 whisky tasting coupons, plus other gifts. That’s it, then it escalates if you want a VIP option, more if you want to add a Big Breakfast at Andaz.

There’s pros and cons with this new system, of course.
