LUXURIOUSLY LACKLUSTRE

A black and white bar has opened which offers drinkers a world drained of colour – right down to the decor, furniture and even staff.

Thought to be a world first, the colourless venue which looks like the world of a black and white movie took more than four months to create and staff each spent one and a half hours in the make up chair to achieve the monochrome look.
It’s been planned so that the walls, furniture, lighting, pictures, ping pong table, board games, bar food and even the staff have been totally stripped of all colour for the thematic bar.
Creating a bar using only shades of white, grey and black is an interior design feat never attempted before.
Bar staff even wear contact lenses to ensure eye colour fits into the grey scale theme and the women wear black bob wigs while the men’s hair is coloured using black hair spray and paint.
Two separate make up trials on models were undertaken as consideration was given on how staff members could keep the black and white look while working behind a busy bar.
