BEETLE HOUSE
29 Apr 2016 By David Fuhrmann-Lim
Someone has opened a Tim Burton theme bar called Beetle House, with drinks and characters inspired by the auteur’s movies.
This Tim Burton theme bar has just opened in New York City. Now we are sometimes wary of theme bars (sports, Peanuts, Tiki), but this is no horrorshow. The owners of the bar, Zach Neil and Brian Link have some experience with movie theme bars, their recent hit was Stay Classy, a bar based on Anchorman and the other characters of Will Ferrell.
The food at Beetle House is a mix of comfort American, Latino and European dishes, while the cocktails include The Nightmare Before Christmas (above, with rum, creme de coconut, lime juice), Alice in Wonderland (peach vodka, gin, rum, tequila, peach schnapps, sour mix, Coke), and The Chocolate Factory Martini – though that sounds more like a drink for R Kelly.
The doorman is Beetlejuice (“it’s showtime!”) so good luck getting past him. If you’re in New York City, make reservations here.
