From 23 to 25 May 2023, Vinexpo Asia 2023 will bring a thousand exhibitors from 35 countries, including France, Italy, Australia, USA and Spain to Marina Bay Sands. ‘Country of Honour’ USA will showcase the diversity of wines from California, Oregon and Washington regions in their collective pavilion.

We nabbed a quick gab with Vinexposium CEO Rodolphe Lameyse after the press conference. Lameyse, formerly the director of the Food Hospitality Asia and Prowein Asia exhibitions, explained, “The DNA of Vinexpo is to work with the producers, the winemaker themselves. They come to the trade show on their own brand.” On the recently-concluded ProWine Singapore, “they work through the distributors, the importers who represent the brand.”

“When you. enter the showfloor of Vinexpo in May, the first thing you will see is the big brands. Treasury Wine Estates with Penfolds, you will see Gérard Bertrand – all the iconic brands will be here. (With ProWine), it was associated with FHA. Here, we are only talking about wine – more than 7000 square meters of winemakers.”

“Personally, I know most of them. Last week, I spent two days with Gérard Bertrand (who’s) producing rose and incredible wine. I was with Philippe Guigal, Michel Chapoutier… They helped me to consider what was the best strategy for the company. They’re like an advisory board.”

Although mostly a B2B fair, wine enthusiasts can still sign up for the first-ever Le B+D Grand Tasting on 22 May 2023.
