DIY ESPRESSO MARTINI
02 Sep 2014 By Xin Hui Helder-Eng
If you want an eye opener, literally, and a metaphorical kick in your next drink, make yourself an espresso martini. Here’s how.
STEP 1: Stifle that Yawn.
STEP 2: Chill a Martini Glass.
STEP 3: Pour 25ml of top quality Vodka into a cocktail shaker.
STEP 4: No. No. No. Fight the urge to drink it.
STEP 5: Add 25ml Coffee Liqueur.
STEP 6: Add a standard double shot of espresso (and – if you fancy – a dash of sugar syrup)
STEP 7: Again, fight the urge to drink it.
STEP 8: Fill your shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Crump. Twerk. Mouth Agape. Eyes-Clamped-Shut Optional.
STEP 9: Double strain the concoction into the glass you chilled earlier.
STEP 10: Leave it to settle for a few seconds (assuming you shook it hard enough) and a nice thick head should form.
STEP 11: Garnish with three slightly off-centre coffee beans – CCC (chocolate chip cookie) optional – and serve!
